If you already have gas ducted heating, add-on cooling is often the smartest path to whole-home refrigerated cooling: a cooling coil and outdoor condenser work with your existing fan and ductwork, so you get chilled air from the same vents that heat the house in winter.
How add-on cooling works
An evaporator coil is fitted to your existing ducted heater, connected to an outdoor refrigerated condenser. In summer the system cools and dehumidifies; in winter your gas heating runs exactly as before. Because it reuses your ducts and fan, the installed cost is typically well below a full ducted refrigerated system.
Compatibility is everything
Not every heater and duct set-up can take add-on cooling — the fan must move enough air, the ducts must be sized and insulated for cooling, and the coil must match the heater. That's the first thing our consultant checks at the free in-home assessment, and if your system isn't compatible we'll tell you straight and quote the alternatives.

It depends on your heater's fan capacity, the coil match and your ductwork. Most reasonably modern Brivis, Braemar and Bonaire systems can be assessed for compatibility — we confirm at a free in-home assessment.
Is add-on cooling cheaper than full ducted refrigerated?
Usually, yes — you're reusing the ducts, vents and fan you already own, so you're buying the cooling components only. If your ducts are ageing or undersized, we'll price the comparison honestly.
Does add-on cooling dehumidify?
Yes. It's true refrigerated cooling, so it dries the air as it cools — effective even on humid days, unlike evaporative systems.
