One System. Every Room. All Year.
Ducted refrigerated (reverse-cycle) air conditioning heats your whole home in winter and cools it in summer through the same discreet ceiling or floor vents. It's the premium whole-home solution — and because the ductwork design determines how well it performs, it's a job for installers who do it every day.
Designed for your floor plan, not a template
Every A-Temp ducted quote starts with a design: heat-load calculations for your floor plan, duct sizing and vent placement room by room, and a properly-located outdoor unit. Get the design wrong and you pay for it every quarter in running costs; get it right and the system disappears into the background of the house.

Replacing an old ducted system?
If you're upgrading from an ageing ducted heater or older refrigerated system, we can often reuse sound existing ductwork after inspection — which significantly reduces the installed price. High-efficiency electric reverse-cycle upgrades may also attract discounts under the Victorian Energy Upgrades program*, and as part of Accel Service Group (VEU accredited provider no. A2067) we handle the eligibility check and paperwork ourselves.
Ducted Refrigerated Heating & Cooling questions, answered
Is ducted refrigerated cheaper to run than gas ducted heating?
Modern reverse-cycle systems are among the most efficient ways to heat a Melbourne home, typically delivering three or more units of heat per unit of electricity. Actual savings depend on your tariffs, insulation and how you zone the system — we're happy to run the comparison for your home.
Can I run only some rooms?
Yes — zoning is the single best upgrade for running costs. We design zones around how you live (living areas by day, bedrooms by night) and can add individual room control with smart zone controllers.
Does my home suit a ducted system?
Most homes with accessible roof or underfloor space suit ducted. Double-storey homes are usually zoned per level. Where space is genuinely tight, a multi-split may be the better answer — we quote what fits, not what's on special.
Are there rebates for upgrading to reverse-cycle?
Eligible high-efficiency electric upgrades may attract discounts under the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program, delivered through our group's accreditation (no. A2067), subject to eligibility and site assessment. We check eligibility free of charge as part of your quote.
